Product 5 questions
Most "natural" soap is either expensive or full of filler ingredients that offset the cost. We use five ingredients- six in scented bars- and price it like soap should be priced. No lifestyle markup. No filler ingredients.
Cold process means combining oils and lye at room temperature- no external heat. This preserves the natural glycerin produced during saponification, which is what gives cold process soap its characteristic skin feel. It also requires a full cure time (4-6 weeks). We never cut that short.
With normal daily use, a 4 oz. bar lasts 4-6 weeks. Keep it on a draining soap dish between uses and it'll last toward the longer end. Letting it sit in pooled water shortens bar life significantly.
The unscented bar is the best option for sensitive skin- five ingredients, nothing added. Many customers with eczema or skin sensitivities have switched from commercial soap and reported improvement. That said, we're not dermatologists. If you have a specific condition, patch test first.
Yes. Many customers use it as a face wash, especially the unscented bar. Cold process soap retains glycerin which is gentle on facial skin. The lather is rich but not stripping.

Lye (sodium hydroxide) is required to make real soap- there is no alternative. During the cold process, lye fully reacts with the oils in a chemical process called saponification. The finished bar contains zero lye. It's the same process every soap maker uses, including the expensive ones.
RSPO stands for the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. It's the leading international certification for sustainably sourced palm oil- meaning no deforestation, no habitat destruction. We use it because palm oil gives the bar hardness and longevity, and we checked that our source meets the standard.
Most scented bars use a single essential oil- eucalyptus, spearmint, lavender, sweet orange, grapefruit, tea tree, cedar, pine, or lemongrass. Three scents (Rose, Vanilla, Cherry) use CandleScience CleanScents fragrance oils- phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant. Full ingredient lists are on each product page.
Yes. All bars are vegan. No animal-derived ingredients- no tallow, no beeswax, no honey. Plant oils only.

What does "saponified" mean?

Saponified refers to the chemical reaction known as saponification, which is the process of converting fats or oils (lipids) into soap. This reaction occurs when a strong alkali, such as sodium hydroxide (lye) for solid soap or potassium hydroxide for liquid soap, is combined with these fats or oils. During saponification, the alkali breaks down the fats or oils into their constituent molecules, glycerol, and fatty acid salts (soap molecules). These soap molecules have both hydrophilic (water-attracting) and hydrophobic (water-repelling) parts, allowing them to interact with both water and oils, making them effective for cleaning. Saponification is a fundamental process in soap-making and produces the soap bars or liquid soap that we use for cleansing.
